In true solo entrepreneur style, I’ve resigned from my full-time job; so I’m focusing on my freelance career at the moment - working on my web design portfolio, networking & generally being really…
I’m excited, terrified & impatient about life.
I’m scared I’m doing the wrong thing.
Remembering Steve Pavlina’s Ready-Fire-Aim approach helps, i.e. don’t get stuck just planning stuff forever. (Scroll down to “Failure is your friend”)
Now, I just have to be courageous & leap into the unknown; otherwise I’ll be forever teetering on the edge looking into the abyss, wondering what if…
If you’re excited about achieving a particular goal, but you’re afraid… jump on it and do it anyway. (SP)
In case you weren’t aware, In some cases, being de-ranked also means being removed from Amazon’s search results.
Los Angeles Times asked for further explanation of the glitch… Patty Smith [Amazon Director of Corporate Communications] said, “Unfortunately, I’m not able to comment further.” Helpful(!)
If it’s a glitch, why did Amazon originally tell so many authors that they’d been deranked for being adult-themed, as far back as February?
More results in news articles I found on Google News, where Amazon is saying this a glitch they are fixing… Tweeple quick to respond with #glitchmyass. Heh (More info)
Stuff I’ve not seen mentioned much elsewhere
Amazonfail, Facebook group - lots of people posting useful info I’ve not seen elsewhere
#Amazonfail and the politics of anti-corporate cyberactivism
The Amazon Rank Googlebomb is now the second result if you search for amazon rank at Google.
Affecting disability-related books too

Amazon has removed (some) LGBT books from their rankings: I cry, “Discrimination!”
In protest at Amazon’s new “adult” policy - sign the petition
I heard the news from @CassieRobinson earlier today, followed links on LiveJournal and now there’s a hashtag with lots of results - #amazonfail
What astonishes me most is that Amazon has even removed Scarleteen & other “GLBT, feminist, sexuality and young adult sexual health” resources from their rankings; apparently that’s what their customers want. I hope there’s enough of a stink that we show them how wrong they are.

#Amazonfail Update by Cheryl Morgan
I’ve been getting back into blogging a bit more lately. Mostly I’ve been tweeting my socks off, but it’s time to publish more than 140 characters a pop!
So, I signed up to 31 Days to Build a Better Blog and I’m planning to do a SWOT Analysis (looking at the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats of something). By the way, #31DBBB has been postponed until 6th April.
Plus, I’ve been looking at Well Formed Outcomes, using PEAS (Positive, Evidence, Appropriate, Self-Maintained) to work through & evaluate some of my goals.
So, all that remains is to pick a blog.
Inspire With Hope is in need of a lot of attention. Tea Cake Vegan is new on the scene & one I want to get stuck into (but it’s hosted with Posterous, so I don’t have control over things like layout). Ethical Beads is still a twinkle in my eye…
Decisions, decisions!
I’m excited about the richness & abundance of inspiration sources. As soon as I clarified in my mind my particular interests when it comes to web design, I started seeing loads of resources…
